Golden Globes 2025: Selena Gomez, Sebastian Stan, Kate Winslet Among Stars Nominated for Multiple Projects

All three performers landed nods in more than one category, for their work on various titles.

Selena Gomez, Sebastian Stan and Kate Winslet are among the performers who landed multiple Golden Globe nominations, this year, with all three actors receiving nods for their work in multiple projects.

For the third consecutive year, Gomez received a nomination for best performance by a female actor in a television musical or comedy for her role as Mabel in Only Murders in the Building. The multihyphenate is also up for best supporting actress in a motion picture for the musical crime comedy Emilia Pérez.

Following the news of her nominations, Gomez shared a video on her Instagram Story of herself in bed reacting to the announcement. In the text accompanying it, the actor gushed that she felt “so grateful and honored.”

In her Hollywood Reporter cover story, Gomez admitted that she hadn’t prepared to be a prominent figure in the 2025 awards circuit with Emilia Pérez. “I was very confused,” she said. “I was like, ‘Guys, why are we doing so many things right now?’ And everyone’s just laughing because [Emilia Pérez is] doing well.”

Meanwhile, Stan received a nomination in the category of best performance by a male actor in a motion picture drama for his portrayal of Donald Trump in The Apprentice, the Ali Abbasi-helmed biopic about the president-elect’s rise in the 1970s. Stan is also competing for best performance by a male actor in a motion picture musical or comedy for A Different Man.

Both roles are generating plenty of awards buzz. Back in February, Stan was recognized with the best actor prize for A Different Man at the Berlin International Film Festival.

During a chat with executive awards editor Scott Feinberg for THR’Awards Chatter podcast, Stan said that winning the award in Berlin was a “special moment” and he was “amazed to be part of that and to be included in that.”

Winslet was nominated for best actress in a drama film for her role as World War II photographer Lee Miller in Lee and was separately nominated for best actress in a limited series, anthology series or movie made for TV for her work in The Regime.

Despite her 2008 Oscar win for The Reader, Winslet recently told 60 Minutes that she sometimes feels as if she’s not worthy of a role, an experience that she had on the set of Lee.

“I would sit there and I would say, ‘This is ridiculous … I can truly think of at least five other brilliant actresses who would have played this part much better than me. Like, a lot better.’ And often I will turn to another crewmember and I’ll say, ‘They just read the wrong name off the list. I’m telling you, they didn’t mean for me to be here,’” she said.

As for her role in The Regime, she told THR that she’d never seen anything like it.

“I’d never come across a character so unique, so unusual, so sort of unimaginable and dislikable,” she said. “And I just knew, I had to make this something else. This has got to be something I’ve never done before; I’ve got to really scare myself. I have to really challenge myself.”

The Golden Globes will air on Sunday, Jan. 5, 2025, on CBS. Nikki Glaser will host the ceremony.

Golden Globes producer Dick Clark Productions is owned by Penske Media Eldridge, a joint venture between Penske Media Corporation and Eldridge that also owns The Hollywood Reporter.
