During a recent interview with NY Daily News, Selena talks her love life to career and how her personal life has become the media center attention. Below are some highlights from the interview.
On her personal life
“It does get to me. I’m a human and I feel those emotions of when people talk about you,” the 21-year-old “Getaway” actress told The News. “It’s never a good feeling cause half the time it’s just bull, it’s not real.”
Finding A Mr Right
‘I’m very picky,’ Gomez says of finding a potential boyfriend. ‘The hardest part [is] just trying to find someone that will just love the core person and not anything else around it.’
“I’m very picky, though. I’m confident and I believe that you should have somebody who really does love you for who you are,” she said of finding love. “That’s the hardest part just trying to find someone that will just love the core person and not anything else around it.”
Privacy Invasion”
In the real world I’ll drive my car to the grocery store and buy myself some food,” she said. “In the media world it’s like, ‘Oohhh, I drive my car to go somewhere secretive.’ It gets too clouded so I just have good people around me.”
Reaching #1 on Billboard
“It felt good, but I was still a little nervous because his following is very passionate and very committed,” she confessed. “I did not think at all I’d get No. 1. It was such a crazy feeling and after four records having the fourth be No. 1 … it felt like I tried all styles of music and kept going until I got my sound.”
How she maintains her figure when she indulge on her favorite foods
“I like to cook casseroles, cheesy potatoes, cheddar rice with chicken,” she described. “It’s just kind of stuff that’s really not good for you. That’s what I cook.”
Still, Gomez manages to stay in great shape and is regarded as one of the industry’s most beautiful women. So how does she keep her figure?
“Well now this tour is making me workout,” she added after recent photos surfaced of her with two huge ice packs on each knee. “I’ve just never danced this much in my life. We do 13 choreographed pieces for the show and I wanted to full out dance. Now I’m like, ‘Why did I do this to myself?'”
